There are also some very beautiful walking or running paths to discover. For beach lovers there are several options, such as Egremni Beach, Porto Katsiki Beach, Kathisma Beach, Milos Beach, Vasiliki Beach (windsurfing haven), Kavalikefta Beach, Agiofili Beach, Agios Nikita Beach, Ammoussa Beach and not to forget Micros Gialos which you can see from the villa. Walking tours
The mountainous area of Lefkada is full of canyons, ravines, springs, rich vegetation, rare flowers and scenic pathways, ideal for long walks and excursions in the nature. The pathways of Skaros Mountain with the beautiful forest of Velanidias, the Melissa Gorge in Sfakiotes, the canyon of Dimosari, the waterfalls of Nidri in a green and cool place and the forest of Dafnis in Sivros, will create a breathtaking excitement to those who will decide to explore Lefkada by taking a long walk. Near Lefkada’s town, you could take magical walks around the Lagoon to the south side of Lekada’s town, the olive grove, Fryni and Apolpena to the monastery of Faneromenis. Diving
The underwater paradise world of Lefkada, offers unforgettable experiences to the lovers of diving. Seated in Nikiana and Nidri, organised Diving centres are operating in Lefkada, arranging diving excursions. The diving centres offer all the diving opportunities with an escort of qualified divers and specialties: First dive, discover scuba, diving of any kind, first aid lessons. See www.lefkasdivingcenter.gr for more info. Windsurfing Vasiliki is very popular for it's windsurfing and there are enough opportunities to practice here! Check out this website for more info: www.clubvass.com In Vassiliki the phenomenon is impressive. During mornings the closed bay area is ideal for beginners, since there are no waves and the water is quite shallow. After midday, the direction of the wind (Eric) changes and the sea becomes rough, giving the all clear for a wave fight. The wind statistics of this beach are impressive: May - 15 days of wind, June - 20, July - 25, August - 20, September - 15. Wind speed ranges from 4 to 7 and even 8 bft in good days. Vassiliki is an ideal surf place for slalom and freestyle of side shore conditions. There you will find many windsurfing schools and specialised shops. Kitesurfing Myloi is the only registered beach exclusive to Kite Surfers. Situated right next to Agios Ioannis beach, it enjoys fantastic winds. The Kite Surf Open tournament is often hosted here. Sailing and motorboating The Ionian islands are considered one of the most beautiful sailing regions in the world. It’s therefore not surprising that sailing is the main sport on Lefkada. Many sailing enthusiasts from all over the world, have made Lefkada the home port for their vessels, sailing the Ionian waters and far beyond.
